The starting point.
The server running the ERP was obsolete and any basic task was far too slow. The organisation handles a large volume of information and needed a reliable, high-performing server infrastructure.
Mundotêxtil had experience with IBM-AIX environments — very robust, reliable systems — and there was apprehension about migrating to a Windows environment.
It was essential to ensure that communications, software and databases remained stable, scalable and resilient, whatever environment was chosen.
How we approached it.
INFOS, in partnership with Fujitsu, carried out the assessment, optimisation and implementation of a clustered solution: two Fujitsu RX2530 M4 servers, a DX60S4 storage unit and a Celvin QE807 4×4 TB NAS for backup.
Cluster with failover — if one server fails, the second takes over without any service interruption.
Virtualisation: five physical servers consolidated into two machines, running several virtual machines in parallel.
Dedicated backup system to ensure fast recovery in the event of data loss.
What changed.
Since installation there has not been a single service outage — reliability and robustness confirmed in the field.
Processes that used to take hours now return the same information in a few minutes.
Consolidating five servers into two brought energy savings, a smaller footprint and lower maintenance costs.
The acquisition cost of the Fujitsu system was lower than it would have been with the previous manufacturer.
Fujitsu allowed us to modernise our server infrastructure, improving performance and reducing costs.
