In a constant concern to bring together the best security solutions – both internally and in the offering to its clients, INFOS chose Sophos (LSE: SOPH), a global leader in security for network and endpoint protection, as its technology partner in the area of Information Security.
INFOS was looking to update the security of its communications, with the challenge of implementing best practices in this scope, both at the level of its technological infrastructure and in terms of human resources, providing training to its employees. Thus, to protect the network, two Sophos XG 210 Firewalls were implemented – the dual acquisition was carried out with a view to continuous security, since the second firewall ensures business continuity in the event of a failure of the main firewall. In addition, the XG Firewalls enable the monitoring and filtering of the network, which brings greater productivity and security.
Another need of the company was external access to its servers – the XG Firewall enabled the implementation of a VPN with multi-factor authentication, essential to ensure the greatest security of all devices. On the other hand, INFOS has 70 employees, 10 physical servers and more than 50 virtual servers – all this equipment already had an antivirus solution, but had no protection against malware and ransomware, thus being vulnerable to increasingly frequent attacks. In order to address this vulnerability, the Sophos Intercept X software was also implemented on all equipment and servers, which, through its deep learning technology, enables advanced, market-leading protection against malware, ransomware, exploits and viruses. Finally, Sophos Central was also chosen, which enables the integration of Sophos's full portfolio of cybersecurity tools into a single Cloud-based management platform, thereby offering fully synchronised security for the whole company.
INFOS also reveals that Sophos products and solutions were particularly useful in a time of pandemic: the VPN enabled all INFOS employees to access the company's Data Center from home and in a secure manner; and Intercept X was essential to block the attempted attacks detected during this period.

During this period we also became aware of some attempted attacks, namely the case of one of our employees whose personal equipment was encrypted by ransomware; however, her INFOS equipment with Intercept X escaped this attack thanks to the Sophos product. We have no doubt that, were it not for the Sophos solutions, everything would have been more difficult!’
